| 'So, we got
our act together, and started looking at the animations on the website.
The kids are so funny… they are young (8 and 9 years old) and it was really
funny when they couldn't get the problem. (Now, it will be up to you and
your kids to decide if it was just my kids that couldn't get it… wouldn't
surprise me, or their age, or lack of experience at this with 'global problems'.)
I had them start to look at them in small groups, and then they are using the capture tool on Smart Board to put the picture (the problem they are discussing), and to type their comments. We have not done a lot of typing this year, and they are not too familiar with the Smart Board software so this will be a longer process. BUT, they were really excited, and really into it. It was fun to watch as they clicked on a picture, and started talking to each other. It is really neat actually, as this totally fits into our Social Curriculum, grade 3, here in Alberta.' |
