Chanoeka - Kerstmis...
Internationaal project
Leerkrachten: Marsha Goren (Ein Ganim Elementary School (5th grade), Petach Tikva, Israel)

To Our Wonderful Friends!

Our class wants to share some information about 'Chanukah' which we all love very much. We hope you enjoy it!

What I like in Chanukah?

Donuts: I like eating them. I like to play with the spinning tops. I like the songs that we sing on Chanukah. Chanukah is the only holy day that where we light a candle. I like Chanukah very much and wish everyone around the world a happy holiday. (Aviv)

I love to light the candles of the Hanukkah lamp, and I like Hanukkah because when all of the family is together, we can feel the light and the heat, and it is a great feeling. With all of the candles and the donuts, there is an atmosphere of Hanukkah. I like the games of the spin-top, and my dad and I are playing with real money! (Noa)
On Hanukkah I like to eat doughnuts. I like the light of the candles. I also like the vacation and I have a great time. (Tomer)
On this Chanukah I plan to do a lot of things with my family. On the first day of Chanukah we are invited to my grandmother's house to light the first candle in the Chanukah lamp and to eat donuts. On Chanukah the school orchestra of 'Ein Ganim' is performing and I am playing my saxophone. All the children's parents are invited too. During the holiday I will also see theatrical performances.

I hope I will have a lot of fun and enjoy myself together with my family. (Harel)

I asked the children to write down 11 words about Christmas.

Lines are made as such: 1 word, 2 words, 3 words, 4 words and 1 word. Together you have 11 words. They may never use the same word. The first and the last word are the most important words. The children are 11 years old and they made also some drawings about Christmas.
